Delusions are very strongly held beliefs in something that is true. They defy all logic, and all proof presented that contradicts the belief. [Again, these are subject to cultural differences. Some beliefs held by other cultures may seem completely irrational to outsiders, but that doesn't make people from that society delusional.] Often these delusions are accompanied by emotional responses that seem to contradict the circumstances they believe themselves to be in. There's so many different interesting delusions that WhiteWolf never touches on. Although there's some major categories of delusions, there's also some differences in definitions and how its categorized across countries, so I did the best I could when assembling this list. Many of the delusion subcategories have more specific syndromes within those categories that are stranger than fiction... |
